Frogs Colouring Contest

We held our very first colouring contest on Instagram (@kingyo.kintsugi) last month in July, inspired by our wonderful customers, who had so many great suggestions for our embroidered designs! 

The design set out to be coloured for the contest was one of the trio in our Frogs patch, from our Mini collection. Joel's inspiration for Frogs was Kawanabe Kyōsai's treatment of the subject; in particular, Kyōsai's uncanny ability to anthropomorphize and project charisma into his drawings.

We were so pleased with the amazing creativity of those who participated! Here's some of the marvellous artwork submitted:

It was very difficult, but Joel eventually picked his top 3 favourite entries, and these were posted for voting via our Instagram stories.
