The chrysanthemum's name is derived from the Greek words chrysos, meaning gold, and anthemon, meaning flower, with the etymology being carried over from the flower's Asian origin. The words for chrysanthemum (菊花) in both Chinese and Japanese mean "gold flower".
This design features shimmering gold thread as a nod to the flower's name, and to bring out the delicate petals against its leaves. We have chosen to use a rubber clutch pin backing to hold the pin securely in place, while offering a warm skin touch for more comfort if worn against the skin.
Golden chrysanthemums are a common theme in Chinese and Japanese embroidered garments - I especially like the look of an embroidered chrysanthemum in gold for this reason.
This product is an embroidered lapel pin with a rubber clutch pin backing.
