Artist's note
Spring flight, Peony Morn, Gentle Bloom, Sakura Dawn is created in a diptych style, which is defined by its structure of two distinct but related parts. It captures the essence of spring through two pairings: a butterfly with peonies, and a butterfly with cherry blossoms. Each work reflects renewal, lightness, and the fleeting beauty that defines the season.
I set out to convey that first day after winter when the sun feels warm again, blossoms open, and butterflies return—a moment filled with quiet joy and possibility. By omitting the ground, the compositions encourage us to look upward and to anticipate what is ahead rather than dwell on what has passed.
These two paintings were created to complement one another as a harmonious pair, yet each also stands alone as a complete expression of spring’s vitality and optimism.
About the print

Taxes
If you live within Australia, you will not be taxed on your order, as we ship orders from Melbourne.
The US has announced tariffs on imports from Australia and trade partners globally. The US has imposed a 10 per cent baseline tariff on most imported goods, effective 9 April 2025. Most goods originating in Australia are subject to this tariff on import into the US, which we have worked into the rate of our shipping costs, which is why you will notice a higher shipping rate than previously.
Every other country's policy on import duties, customs and taxes is different. Please be informed of your country's policies on importing goods from overseas, as usually, orders over a certain threshold will be subject to fees upon delivery. Unfortunately, we have no control over these fees, as this is determined by each country's customs office.
