Description
Every autumn, the hills and mountains of Japan turn a bright red, orange, and yellow, from maple trees putting on their yearly show of colours. Momiji-gari (紅葉狩), or maple tree hunting, is a highly-anticipated event, with the Japanese maple tree viewed as a symbol of elegance, beauty, and grace.
We have chosen to use a rubber clutch pin backing to hold the pin securely in place, while offering a warm skin touch for more comfort if worn against the skin.
Artist's note
Maple leaves are a representation of fall, in typical colours of red, orange, and yellow. They are a season-setting element used often in Japanese tattooing.
