The cherry blossom, or sakura, is widely celebrated in Japanese literature, poetry, and art. Sakura flowers blossom briefly, and in the old and ongoing tradition of hanami (blossom viewing), thousands of people gather annually to celebrate the blossoms, which are seen as a metaphor for the fleeting beauty of nature and living. Fully-bloomed sakura are a welcome sign of spring, and of a brand-new start.
Available in two colour-ways: Crimson (red and gold) and Blossom (cherry blossom pink).
A classic Japanese motif rendered in a classic Irezumi style. They are staples to Japanese and oriental-style tattooers worldwide. Each one is slightly unique to the hand of the artist who draws them - here are mine.
